Community Provisions

This section contains all those 'staples' on which a Jewish community is built. Provisions, such as the availability of Kosher meat, are necessary to meet a person's everyday needs. Leeds provides these through a range of shops and services that you can read about here. Moreover, Leeds can seen to be growing in this regard and furthering its commitment to each and every community member. With the recently built, state-of-the-art community centre we can now say that “second best” is not good enough.

Standing at the very centre of the community, the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre contains, amongst other things, a restaurant, a cafe, the UK's first-and-foremost Jewish radio station Radio JCom and multiple function rooms. Furthermore, it hosts the offices of those organisations that are here to keep Leeds' residents happy, safe, challenged, informed, educated and extended!

Communal services need to extend beyond the day-to-day and cater for those special occasions which bring people together. Anyone who has planned a simcha is aware that it requires a lot of preparation and can be quite stressful. This stress is eased, however, by knowing that everything you need is close at hand. Here you will find all the caterers supervised by the Leeds Bet Din, as well as information on local venues, bands, photographers and more.
