Once a month, a minyan is run for the youth by the youth, in one of the Orthodox synagogues. People from across the community come together to take part in the service. Boys are asked to learn the leining and the girls are asked to prepare a dvar Torah. The services are lively and engaging, and often far more tuneful than the main services! The other advantage is that by cutting out the 'faffing', the service is finished much more promptly. There is often a special kiddush after the services- such as a "Ben & Jerrys Kiddush"- just for the youth. All the synagogues, Orthodox and Reform, have times during the year when young members of the community lead the service in the main synagogue. For example, once a year there is a "Brodetsky Shabbat" where members and ex-members of Brodetsky Primary School play all the key roles in the service. Watch out on the events page one the website for when these occasions arise
